"This book is part of the Swati Verseโ€”a fictional universe where characters' lives crisscross across novels. You might recognise names, events, or backstories from previous books, but don't worryโ€”each story stands strong on its own."

DEDICATION.เชœโ€โžด

"Iss kitaab ko un ladkiyon ke naam, jo bijli ki tarah chamakti hain, par jinko sab log sirf diya samajh lete hain."

And to the boys who were born in power,
But only became men when they chose love over legacy.

Meerut ki galiyon mein raajneeti ka khel toh hamesha se chala aa raha hai... par iss baar mohabbat ne mukhya bhumika nibhai hai.

(The game of politics has always been going on in the streets of Meerut... but this time love has played the main role.)

Tarani Mishra - a middle-class, fearless girl with the heart of a lioness. Daughter of a schoolteacher. She believes in rules, justice, and staying the hell away from men like Baldev Singh Thakur.

Baldev Singh Thakur- angry, arrogant, and the crown prince of political chaos. He's the kind of man who smirks at danger and sinfully leans on power. But when Tarani saves him from a goon's knife, taking the wound meant for him, his world shatters. And reforms-around her.

He wants her. His father wants her gone.

In a city where power is worshipped, and middle-class izzat is fragile, can two opposites write their story in blood, rage... and love?

"Yeh kahani sirf pyaar ki nahi hai... yeh ladayi hai izzat, siyasat, aur uss mohabbat ki jo kisi naeta ki beti nahi, ek teacher ki beti ke liye paida hui thi."

(This story is not just about love... it is a fight for honour, politics, and the love that was born not for the daughter of a politician, but for the daughter of a teacher.)

Thakur Haveli, Drawing Room - Noon.

Tarani Mishra Thakur stood tall in the center of the ornate hall, surrounded by antique chandeliers and outdated egos. Her cotton saree billowed slightly as she moved-graceful, but with the warning of a storm front.

"Yeh... yeh kya badtameezi hai?" Baldev's chacha roared, slamming his tea cup so hard, the saucer cracked.

(What...what is this nonsense?)

"Badtameezi tab hoti, jab main aap jaison ki beizzati ko bhi izzat samajh leti," Tarani replied coolly, her voice calm but sharp like broken glass.

(It would be rude if I considered the insult of people like you as respect)

The room went still.

Baldev stepped in carefully, his tone low, respectful. "Aap shaant ho jaaiye, Tarani. Main baat kar raha hoon sabse... aap-"

(You calm down, Tarani. I am talking to everyone... you-)

"Tum kya baat kar rahe ho?" she turned to face him, unbothered by the gasps in the room. "Tum chup chaap khade ho, Baldev. Jaise main koi political strategy hoon, jo samajh nahi aa rahi."

(What are you talking about?)

(You are standing quietly, Baldev. As if I am some political strategy that cannot be understood.)

He looked like he'd been slapped with words alone.

"Main keh raha hoon... main dekh raha hoon sab kuch. Aapko yeh sab jhelna na pade, main-"

(I am telling you... I am seeing everything. You don't have to go through all this, I-)

"Tum mujhe protect karne aaye the, ya mujhe trophy banake iss haveli mein sajaane?" she cut in, voice rising just enough. "Aur suno Baldev-tumhara 'Thakur' hone se mujhe do kaudi ka farq nahi padta. Samjhe?"

(Did you come to protect me, or to decorate me as a trophy in this mansion?)

(And listen Baldev, it doesn't matter to me if you are a Thakur. Understand?)

Her words hit harder than any slap.

Baldev swallowed hard, the tension in his jaw visible now. His voice softened further. "Main koshish kar raha hoon, Tarani. Aap jaise chahein, waise hoga. Par gussa mat ho-"

(I am trying, Tarani. It will be as you wish. But don't get angry-)

She scoffed. "Gussa toh mujhe tab aata hai jab mujhe weak samjha jaata hai. Main kisi ki daya par yahan nahi hoon, Baldev. Main hoon kyunki main chaahti thi. Tumhara naam... tumhara status... mujhe kabhi impress nahi kiya. Tum mujhe pehchaan se nahi, insaaniyat se jeetne wale the. Par tum ab tak uss imtihaan mein paas nahi hue ho."

(I get angry only when I am considered weak. I am not here on anyone's mercy, Baldev. I am here because I wanted to. Your name... your status... never impressed me. You were going to win me not by identity, but by humanity. But you have not passed that test yet.)

He looked stunned. Humbled. And in love.

"Main sudhar raha hoon," he said quietly. "Aap ke liye."

(I am improving for you.)

She didn't even nod. Just looked at him, head high. "Toh sudhar jao. Lekin yaad rakho-main kisi ki property nahi hoon. Aur mujhe kabhi kisi Thakur ki position se dar nahi laga. Tumse bhi nahi."

(So mend your ways. But remember- I am not anyone's property. And I have never been afraid of any Thakur's position. Not even from you.)

With that, she turned and walked away-storm in every step, grace in every goodbye.

Baldev just stood there, hands at his sides, looking like the heir to an empire who'd just been taught what real power actually looked like.
